We interview the young starlet, who is rapidly gaining popularity with appearances on variety shows and other activities.
"

Nonoka Ono has a loveable face and slender figure, which are helping her dominate the gravure idol scene. The secret to her winning smile was cultivated during her days as a beer vendor at Tokyo Dome. Check out the following interview, which has juicy info like that, as well as fashion tips and more

Thanks for taking some time to talk to us after the shoot. How was it?

Really fun! I got to try on clothes and jump all over the place. You can’t normally do that kind of stuff during a gravure idol shoot. I just thought, “”Okay, so I just have to move around, do some poses and look cute,”” so that was a lot of fun.

Can you tell us why you chose this outfit?

I chose this frilly skirt, it’s cute, and has a vibrant red color. There’s a lot of material at the bottom, which makes my legs look longer, so it gives a better overall impression. These sneakers have a very stylish kind of smoky pink color. The suede material is smart yet casual, so it can go with a lot of different outfits.”

Do you have any tips for wearing sneakers without looking too childish?

Wearing a hat, the right kind of socks, and using small accessories can help tighten up the outfit. Wearing colorful sneakers with simple clothing or a monotone style in daring combinations can help balance out the look and make it more fashionable.

If you went out wearing this kind of outfit, what kind of places would you go?

It would be nice to go out with your boyfriend wearing matching sneakers, wouldn’t it?

Yeah, I really want to do that. I wish I had a boyfriend like that. (smiles) But if someone gave me sneakers as a present, I would be so happy! Having several pairs of them would be fine, and mixing and matching with different colors would be fun too.

So, for that kind of guy, what would you like him to wear?

I basically like a simple look, so a guy with cute shoes, a hat, and someone who does a good job of accessorizing would be nice. Also, someone who wears pink sneakers, has cute little items or that kind of thing.”

So, you’re known as Tokyo’s Dome’s “Number One Beer Girl”. What’s your secret?

I look for big groups, find their leader, and start talking to him. Doing that usually means I get a lot of orders from the other people in the group too. I say something like, “Okay, for your next order, you make sure to buy from only me, okay?”, and that usually results in subsequent orders. (smiles) Also, when going down the steps, I check to see which people look like they might want a beer, and plan little strategies, that kind of thing. I work the Giants fan side, so whenever they score a run, everyone gets excited and I always sell more then!

Wow! So is that kind of experience helping you in your current work as a TV star?

Carrying 15-kilogram beer kegs up and down the steps is really tiring, but even so, smiling is important. If I let it show that I feel tired, people aren’t going to want to buy any beer from me. So I always try to smile no matter how I feel. When I’m on a variety show and I feel nervous, I always keep it in my mind to smile. I guess my time as a beer-girl helped make me strong.”

Okay, so for our last question, could you tell us your plans for 2015?

Well in my personal life, I want to learn to speak English, for the Tokyo Olympics coming up in six years. (smiles) Professionally, I really want to work hard and make more appearances on variety shows. Also, someday I want to throw the ceremonial first pitch at Tokyo Dome. It’s been my dream for such a long time!”
