Onitsuka Tiger Releases 2024 Fall & Winter Collection at Milan Fashion Week
On February 21 (at 10:30am in Italy), Onitsuka Tiger unveiled its 2024 Fall & Winter Yellow Collection at Milan Fashion Week.
The theme of this collection is Urban Winter. This look is comprised of Japanese-made apparel with a wet coating that is suggestive of Tokyo in a sudden shower in an urban winter scene. The color tones use iconic yellow, metropolitan grey, black, beige, and hazelnut, and all of the looks are put together as silhouettes with a novel twist.
As this is Onitsuka Tiger’s 75th anniversary year since its establishment in 1949, the show features 49 looks.
The accent in the looks is Onitsuka Tiger’s celebration piece that is a rib stitch zip-neck wool item inspired by the brand’s iconic track top.
The fashion show accompaniment was performed live by Grammy Award winning pianist Yuja Wang. Ms. Wang composed the theme music for this collection, and one of the world’s most prominent piano makers Steinway & Sons prepared a special yellow piano for the occasion.
Before the show, the warm-up act was performed by a dance team from Japan “Avant-Gardey.” 17 team members wore uniforms and a specially designed MEXICO 66 SD in homage to the Quentin Tarantino film “Kill Bill.” It expresses the brand’s evolution in the form of a new style by reinterpreting heritage shoes more fashionably.
Onitsuka Tiger’s show which draws a high level of attention was attended by fashionistas from around the world including brand ambassador Conan Gray, South Korean singer Maria Hwasa, Thai actor Gulf Kanawut, Indian Actress Rashmika Mandanna, Spanish actor Taz Skylar, and British singer Leigh-Anne.
