The MEXICO MID RUNNER is a special shoe in Onitsuka Tiger’s history as it was not originally found in any catalogues from the time of Tokyo ‘64. This mid-cut version of the MEXICO 66 was only discovered in the archives of ASICS Institute of Sport and Science, in Kobe. The MEXICO MID RUNNER was intended to support the ankle and was used as a training shoe for the long jump, high jump, triple jump, and pole vaulting events.
