The MEXICO 66 CACTFUL features an upper made of environmentally friendly bio-material derived from Mexican cactus, produced with 84.8% fewer CO2 emissions than real leather. The shoes also employ recycled materials for various components other than the main upper portion of the shoe. The midsole has been designed to take advantage of the lightweight materials to provide an even more comfortable fit. Finally, pastel color options highlight the soft texture and give the shoes a special feel.
The DESSERTOⓇ material, developed by Mexican company ADRIANO DI MARTI, not only stands out for its excellent durability and supple texture, but is made without hazardous chemicals such as phthalate ester or PVC. The production process also uses less water, making this an environmentally-friendly material that is gaining attention around the world. Onitsuka Tiger teamed up with the engineers behind DESSERTO to bring the material's quality up to a level that meets Onitsuka Tiger’s strict standards, creating a material that marries environmental friendliness with durability.
