Unique NIPPON MADE models hand-painted by artisans for advance sale at Isetan Shinjuku Men’s

FABRE BL-S DELUXE and a special makeup model MEXICO 66 DELUXE, from the NIPPON MADE series with the highest Japanese craftsmanship, have been launched from October 23 at Shoes Department Labo Stage (B1F) of Isetan Shinjuku Men’s. FABRE BL-S DELUXE, based on the basketball shoe introduced in 1975, and MEXICO 66 DELUXE, updated from the Onitsuka Tiger standard model MEXICO 66, are designed into stylish NIPPON MADE models. Artisans paste Japanese traditional “Washi” paper onto each cut goat leather upper of the shoe and then carefully hand-paint Onitsuka Tiger stripes on it. The NIPPON MADE series, which showcases the artisanal quality of Japanese craftsmen with its sneakers, now has a new model, the ULTIMATE TRAINER SH. It’ll be on shelves starting November 7th at Isetan Shinjuku Main Building Men’s, and from November 23rd at some other Onitsuka Tiger stores. The handcrafted brush-coating design is different for each pair, depending on the artisan who works on the shoe. The ULTIMATE TRAINER SH is based on a 1980s cross trainer called the ULTIMATE TRAINER, which was updated and modernized into its current incarnation. 【NIPPON MADE】Colorful fall leaves a motif for this “Autumn in Japan” shoe

The NIPPON MADE series, whose show the world the quality of Japanese craftsmanship, now has a new MEXICO 66 DELUXE item. With an autumn colors motif, the design is classic Japanese. The elegant color scheme featuring a mountain range bursting with autumn foliage is the work of a traditional handcraft dyeing technique called the Daisen Yuzen method. Daisen Yuzen originates from Tottori Prefecture, the hometown of Onitsuka Tiger’s founder and the birthplace of this kimono dyeing technique, which is used in dyeing the fabric in different colors several times to create a deep color gradation.
