Shadow Onitsuka Tiger Autumn & Winter 2022 Collection

Japanese fashion brand Onitsuka Tiger presents a collection fusing fashion and sports with heritage and innovation.

Sequential sales of the Autumn & Winter 2022 collection will begin in August. The campaign visual is based on the concept Shadow, keynoting black and white monotones.

Models’ nimble movements and poses reminiscent of dance scenes are inspired by the aesthetics of the designers who influenced Japan’s fashion scene in the 1980s. It is an homage to the stunning aesthetics of Japanese beauty centered on purity and simplicity, contrasting with Western aesthetics in which ultimate beauty is linked with gorgeousness.

An active, contemporary collection accentuating that age. Layering typical of Japanese formal wear is the essence of this original, genderless collection.

Flames and flower prints on the hems of the various apparel items are the only distinctive decorative motifs in this otherwise simple and minimalist, unified collection of oversized T-shirts of thick cotton and caftans with graphic embroidery. Velour dresses of Gothic and girly-type modern rock-star style and mini dresses decorated with drawstrings on the waist are layered with nylon jackets and maxi Bermuda pants or midi pleated skirts and multi-pocketed vests, topped off by a balaclava on the head.

The footwear’s upper is made of lustrous, high-quality nylon and suede. Symbolizing the collection’s Shadow theme are the boot-style DELEGATION CHUNK BOOT creating a voluminous sole and the ACROMOUNT KNIT of simple, minimalist design accented with delicate prints.
