STARGLOW look.2

A giant five-pointed star takes shape as each member’s individual strengths shine.

STARGLOW is a boys group known for its overwhelming vocal ability and dance performance. In look.1, they showed us their love of fashion and the close bond they share. In look.2, we asked them about the relationship between fashion and their daily activities, as well as how they feel about their group gaining ever more popularity and opportunities. After a passionate, laughter-filled conversation, an unexpected topic even came up: “Could it be that STARGLOW is actually just like Onitsuka Tiger!?”

The five members excitedly admire one another’s outfits. Even in their everyday lives, they often chat about fashion, saying things like, “Your outfit looks great today,” or “What brand is that?” Dressed in the 2026 AUTUMN WINTER COLLECTION, their fashion talk only grows more animated between shots.

TAIKI: In look.2, my favorite item was the shoes (MEXICO 66 SQUARE FIERY RED/FIERY RED). I don’t usually wear red shoes made with a leather-like material, so they felt new to me. They really stand out and add a striking accent to the outfit.

GOICHI: I also really loved the floral shoes (MEXICO 66 SQUARE WHITE/CREAM). They were incredibly cute. I liked the mature style of pairing them with a khaki set-up and pants.

RUI: I like long coats in my everyday wardrobe too, so this look really lifted my mood. The yellow sneakers that stood out against the gray coat were cool too—just the best!

ADAM: In winter, I tend to wear a lot of black, so the camel color—and especially the coat—felt fresh to me. Personally, I really liked the styling contrast between the oversized top and the pants that showed the line of the legs.

KANON: At first glance, the gray jacket set-up looks quite formal, but it’s styled in a great way by loosening it up with a wrinkled-texture shirt and floral shoes. It made me realize how interesting styling can be, and I learned that this kind of balance works really well.

Starglow look.2

While they enjoy their own different tastes in everyday fashion and inspire one another, they say that when it comes to costumes for performances, they exchange opinions thoroughly and pay close attention to every detail.

ADAM: When we appear at events, before we even ask the stylist, the members first talk among ourselves and say, “This is the kind of feel we want this time.” Then we tell the staff, “We’d like to go with this kind of costume,” and after that we ask the stylist, who brings us various options.

KANON: We all try them on together, look at each other, and every time we talk about things like, “Wouldn’t this be better?” In that sense, maybe we really are building our whole world together.

ADAM: Fashion and our daily activities and performances are inseparable. If we can wear outfits that feel perfect to us, it gives us even more confidence in our performance. And if the outfits don’t quite click, the opposite can happen too. That’s why we care a lot about our costumes, and in the end we make sure each member’s opinion is reflected before telling the staff, “This is what we want to go with!”

KANON: Exactly. If the mood of the outfit doesn’t match the song we’re performing, even just a little, the audience might feel something like, “The song is good, but somehow it doesn’t fully land with me.” I really think even a very small difference can change how a song is received.

TAIKI: The silhouette of the clothes is important too. If something is too oversized, it can make the dance a little harder to see. And maybe this is more about mindset, but there are definitely times when wearing a hat low helps me dance better. Fashion doesn’t just shape your outer self—it shapes your inner self too. It has a really positive effect.

GOICHI: I think the way I can look my coolest on any given day changes depending on the outfit I’m wearing that day. Every time we wear different costumes at live shows or festivals, it’s almost fair to say the performance itself changes. Fashion doesn’t go so far as to change your personality, but it does play a role in switching your mode.

RUI: Everyone’s already said it, but I genuinely feel from the bottom of my heart that it gives me confidence and changes my performance too. For example, on days when I think, “My styling looks amazing today,” I feel confidence rising in me even just walking down the street. I’m sure everyone feels that way, and that’s probably why Omotesando is full of people like that. It’s the same on stage—when I’m wearing a cool outfit, I can stand tall there like I’m in Omotesando.

KANON: I like that—Omotesando.

GOICHI: So Omotesando is the standard, huh?

ADAM: So sometimes the stage turns into the zelkova-lined streets of Omotesando.

RUI: And then I just walk straight into an Onitsuka Tiger store. The reason I’m talking so smoothly right now is because I’m wearing Onitsuka Tiger and feeling full of confidence.

Starglow look.2

STARGLOW believes in the power of fashion and brings out the full appeal of each member’s character and performance. Their presence and popularity continue to grow. As they move through a fast-changing environment, surrounded by shifting circumstances and many people, what does each member value most as they continue their activities and their own evolution?

RUI: It may sound obvious, but I think it’s important to keep doing what we do without ever forgetting gratitude. We have to remember that the environment we’re in now is a very fortunate one, and that our activities are made possible by the lives and efforts of so many people. I really value gratitude and respect toward others.

GOICHI: Three of us are still in our teens, and all of us debuted as artists while still immature as people and without much life experience. So I want us to grow properly as individuals and become respectable members of society. What RUI said is part of that too, but I want us to keep moving forward while gaining the mindset and experience we should have, like gratitude and common sense.

KANON: I want us to keep respecting each person and their individuality. For example, if someone’s feeling down, being able to judge whether it’s better to talk to them or whether it’s better to leave them alone for the moment. And I hope we can always fully support the work each member is doing and continue to support one another.

ADAM: For both myself and the other members, I think it’s important not to erase our individuality—in a good way. What matters is that we each make use of one another and are also brought out by one another. It’s okay if one person can do something and another person doesn’t do that thing.

TAIKI: I feel the same way. Not everyone has to step forward in every situation. When it makes sense to leave something to someone, that’s okay. The person who’s best at it should do their best.

ADAM: Right. The person who’s more skilled in that area should take it on, and then keep challenging themselves further with what they’re good at.

TAIKI: And when that happens, I want all of us to find the best way for that person to shine.

ADAM: Yeah, it would be great if all of us could become capable of doing all kinds of things together.

Starglow look.2

Their way of thinking feels mature because it comes from knowing and respecting both themselves and one another. When these five collide, spark a chemical reaction, and shine together as one star, they generate an explosive kind of energy. Watching them, you can feel how each individual’s power is beautifully elevated into the group as a whole.

TAIKI: The five of us are clearly distinct individuals, but when we come together as a team, somehow our strengths align and create a much bigger power. I think that’s because we all share the same goal of becoming people who could stand on our own even as solo artists. For example, one of us could be an actor, one could be great at action, one could release music as a solo artist. As long as, when we come together in the end, it makes the group the strongest it can be.

GOICHI: We’re a five-member group, which is relatively small by today’s standards, but I’m confident we’ll never let people get bored. Even within a single song, each of us stays true to our own style, so I think people can keep enjoying us the whole time. On our fan meeting tour, we also do solo cover segments, and each person’s color comes through really clearly. I personally feel that it shows just how wide STARGLOW’s appeal really is.

RUI: Exactly. Because we all like different things, the moment the five of us face the same direction, all kinds of colors come out. It’s fun for me too, and honestly, the fact that we’re really close is also a huge plus. Oh, wait, maybe we’re not actually that close. Maybe it’s just business. Please don’t quote me on that.

KANON: You always do that bit. We really are close, though (laughs).

RUI: (laughs) I think the fact that we get along so well has become part of our identity too. Right?

All: (Silence)

RUI: Huh?

ADAM: It’s like each of us has a star-shaped pentagon graph, and for every person, one different point shoots way out. That’s why we don’t hold back out of consideration for the other members—we sharpen our own strengths. And when we perform, we naturally make up for one another. If you layer those five stars together, they become an even bigger star. That’s what it feels like to me.

RUI: That’s exactly it. TAIKI is a master of jumping, GOICHI is a master of running, I’m a master of punching, KANON is a master of defense, and ADAM is a master of taiko drumming.

ADAM: Don, ka!

TAIKI: Ahahaha (laughs).

RUI: And just like that, this huge star gets completed.

KANON: That’s part of it too (laughs), but we’re also constantly growing, and I really feel that our performances keep changing as time goes on because we’re always being influenced by the people around us. At the same time, even when I look back at footage from a festival we performed at six months ago, I still think, “This is an incredibly good performance in its own way.” I think one of STARGLOW’s strengths is that we keep updating what “a great performance in its own way” means. Even we ourselves feel excited wondering what kind of version of us we’ll get to see next.

Starglow look.2

More than anything, they themselves enjoy the songs and performances and feel excited by them. Seeing that makes fans and listeners even more excited. The artists then receive that energy back and gain momentum from it. In entertainment, isn’t that a wonderful cycle? So what kind of place, what kind of presence, is STARGLOW to each of them? At that question, the one who raised his hand high was—

RUI: Can I sum up everyone’s thoughts?

All: Please do.

RUI: For us, STARGLOW is a place like Onitsuka Tiger.

KANON: Ooooh!

GOICHI: The reason is what matters. Let’s hear him out quietly.

RUI: This may be presumptuous, but I think STARGLOW and Onitsuka Tiger are similar. STARGLOW wants to be heard by lots of people in Japan, become well known, and eventually spread our wings to the world. But for the people who listen to us, we want to remain a familiar, reassuring presence—like the home of your longtime closest friends, always the same no matter what… Um… (quietly) Help me…

All: (laughs)

TAIKI: And just like the “tiger” in Onitsuka Tiger’s name, we also want to keep that bold, attacking spirit and keep taking on all kinds of challenges.

RUI: Exactly! Thanks, TAIKI. The more positively we keep challenging ourselves, the more people will listen to our music. And then STARGLOW will keep growing more and more. So much that everyone will be like, “I can’t keep calm!”

TAIKI: (quietly) Huh? I can’t keep calm?

KANON: (quietly) Huh? Onitsuka Tiger?

ADAM: I see. It would be great if we could make everyone who listens to us that happy.

RUI: Exactly!

KANON: If Onitsuka Tiger is like a home base in the apparel world, then we’re like a home base in the boys group world.

RUI: That’s really exactly what it feels like.

GOICHI: Yeah, I think… I kind of get it now.

KANON: Please keep supporting STARGLOW!

They are a rare group in whom an artist’s passion coexists with an utterly natural charm. That contrast makes you smile before you know it, and suddenly you find yourself following each member’s every word and action with your eyes. And then you want to see once again the incredible singing and dancing they unleash on stage. This is a star with a kind of allure you can’t come back from once you’ve landed on it.

→ In look.1, we asked each member about how they enjoy fashion in their own way.
