Ryubi Miyase look.2
His true feelings about the craft
Ryubi Miyase says he is mad about the act. The offers continue piling up to do TV shows, dramas, and magazine interviews. In the midst of a busy work schedule, how does he spend his down time? What are his hobbies and likes, and how does he see his future?

I asked him what he likes to do in his spare time. His answer was unexpected – he watches old movies. He has a taste for elegant films which you would not be able to tell from his neat and iconic look.
“Some of my favorite works are ‘A Clockwork Orange,’ the ‘It’s Tough Being a Man’ film series, and Kurosawa Akira’s ‘Throne of Blood.’ Rather than watching film to study acting, I watch film purely to enjoy the show. For music I often listen to The Blue Hearts and Blankey Jet City. I also listen to more recent musicians, but I prefer musicians of my father’s generation. I don’t often meet people from my generation with the same taste, but I do see eye to eye with men in their 40’s and 50’s (laughs). On the set of the TV drama ‘Yamikin Saiharasan’ I got friendly with Makita Sports and we talked a lot about music and he remarked, ‘it isn’t right that I should see eye to eye with an 18 year old’ (laughs). During a set on location during a coffee break, we enthusiastically sang Shogo Hamada’s ‘Money’ together on the street side.”

I thought perhaps he acquired such good taste that would put an adult to shame because he entered the biz at a young age, but he had good taste as a child. I asked him about his most recent hobbies and he immediately responded, “to imagine possibilities about my future.”
“When I imagine the various things that I would like to try my hand at, my thoughts abound. It is important to talk to others about what you want to do and flesh it out. In this business if you say ‘I want to make this’ there are many people who respond by saying ‘let’s do it together. ’I want to fulfill each of my goals by getting others to lend me a hand.”

Dressed up all in yellow, he embodies the relaxed mood of the style in front of the lens. While taking photos which focus on the shoes, he shows off his hip-hop dance moves and the moonwalk. Ryubi Miyase goes above and beyond the call of duty with ease. His hidden creative side is passionate and full of ideas.
“I want to try producing different things and create something. First, I want to have people know about me so I want to produce a video about myself as a self-introduction. I want to film it in the backdrop of the cityscape of Miyagi Prefecture. It would be splendid if many people saw it on SNS. But first, I will start with something that I can immediately give shape to.”

He enjoys the process of building something together in communication with the photographer, stylist, hair and make-up artist, and the rest of the staff on a shoot.
“My father is an architect so I am always aware to give due regard to the work-site where something is made. As the subject of a photo shoot, I want to propose ideas such as what poses to strike. These types of challenges are exciting for me!”
