Onitsuka Tiger Opens its First Spanish Flagship Store in Barcelona

Onitsuka Tiger unveils its first flagship store in Spain on Monday, March 3, 2025.
The design of this two-story store was directed by STUDIODINICATALDI, an architectural firm led by Filippo Dini and Gianluca Cataldi. The concept seamlessly merges Tokyo’s cutting-edge aesthetics with the timeless architectural elegance of the historical building that houses the store, located on the prestigious Passeig de Gràcia.
The ground level is a retail space featuring Onitsuka Tiger’s signature yellow hues and glossy surfaces, evoking the vibrant and modern energy of Tokyo. Reflective walls and polished floors create an open and dynamic space, while the sleek grid-patterned ceiling and illuminated panels add a touch of futurism. Natural light streams through the space, paying homage to the grand architecture of Passeig de Gràcia.
Onitsuka Tiger’s collections are showcased in high-quality displays, with a mix of yellow and contrasting dark tones that draw attention to the products. Minimalist shelving units are strategically placed to highlight the brand’s iconic designs.
The basement level serves as a gallery space, where an archive collection of Onitsuka Tiger’s iconic shoes will be displayed to celebrate the store opening.
The Onitsuka Tiger Barcelona flagship store invites customers to step into a world where tradition and innovation coexist harmoniously, offering an exceptional shopping experience that reflects the spirit of the brand.

“In Barcelona, where tradition and innovation coexist, the opening of our flagship store on Passeig de Gràcia, one of the world’s premier shopping destinations, marks a significant milestone in our brand strategy across Europe,” stated Ryoji Shoda, Head of Onitsuka Tiger Company, regarding this new store’s opening. “We aspire to embody the spirit of our brand, which continually challenges itself while honoring tradition. Our goal is to contribute to the preservation of vital cultural heritage, enhance the value of art, and foster the development of the city, all in synergy with Passeig de Gràcia.”
In commemoration of the opening, the brand has introduced a special edition of the MEXICO 66TM NM (Made in Japan Collection), available exclusively at the Barcelona flagship store. It also offers a wide range of products, from the latest contemporary items to NIPPON MADE Collection, representing superior Japanese craftsmanship.
