“The Aesthetics of Ma” — Onitsuka Tiger Autumn/Winter 2026 Show Report
On the runway at Milan Fashion Week, Onitsuka Tiger unveiled its Autumn/Winter 2026 collection.
Guided by the theme “The Aesthetics of Ma,” this season expresses through fashion the quiet tension that emerges between special moments and the rhythms of everyday life. On the runway, footwear that reinterprets the brand’s iconic MEXICO 66™ appeared, emerging as a defining element of the collection.
Alongside highlights from the show, we look back on the afterglow of the collection.
“Ma” is a cultural concept rooted in Japanese aesthetics, referring to the meaningful space that exists between two elements in time and space. Rather than a simple absence, it is a structural pause—an intentional interval imbued with a sense of deliberate tension. The collection expresses a fashion aesthetic that resides between special moments and everyday life, shaped not only by occasion but also by the individuality and actions of those who wear it.
This season also marks a significant milestone: the 60th anniversary of the Onitsuka Tiger Stripes, first introduced on the brand’s iconic MEXICO 66™ model. In celebration of this anniversary, numerous shoes reinterpreting the brand’s signature icon appeared throughout the collection.
Among the standout pieces was the MEXICO 66™ SQUARE, a refined reinterpretation of the MEXICO 66™ with a slimmer silhouette and a flatter form. Its distinctive square toe, defined by clean and precise lines, carries forward the DNA of the archive while introducing a contemporary sense of sophistication—leaving a strong impression on the runway.

Additionally, a backstrap heel reinterpreting the Onitsuka Tiger Stripes as a three-dimensional design also appeared. This piece transforms a signature element rooted in the brand’s sports heritage into elegant footwear.

A diverse lineup of international celebrities attended the show. Each bringing their own interpretation of the Onitsuka Tiger style. Among the attendees were Eunchae Hong of the Korean girl group LE SSERAFIM from South Korea; Thai actor Nani Hirunkit; Chinese actor Xia Zhiguang; Indonesian artist Raisa; Filipino creator Naiana Guerrero and actress Heart Evangelista; and Indian actress Sreeleela, all of whom added a vibrant presence to the show.
