Onitsuka Tiger Celebrates Its 75th Anniversary:
For Its First Project, Onitsuka Tiger Collaborates with Astro Boy

This year Onitsuka Tiger celebrates its 75th anniversary. As a project to start off its anniversary year, it has announced its global collaboration with Astro Boy.
Astro Boy was Japan’s first long-running TV anime series, and Onitsuka Tiger was Japan’s first athletic shoe brand. The underlying aspiration of both were similar: to cultivate the dreams and spirit of youth who will go on to forge the future.

Collaborative goods will go on advance sale at the Ginza Pop-Up Store and online in Japan at onitsukatiger.com from December 12, 2023, and at limited Onitsuka Tiger shops within Japan from December 16, 2023. Overseas, they will go on sale successively in twelve countries from January 2024, and a Pop-Up Store will open inside Paris department store Samaritaine Paris Pont-Neuf from January 16, 2024. Please stop by these pop-up stores to get the full experience of this collaborative world!

Original logos and Astro Boy artwork have been designed into a wide range of unisex goods. There are a total of 43 items in this lineup which includes T-shirts, track suits, skirts, pants, sling bags, hats, MEXICO 66TM SD and DENTIGRETM PUFF BOOT. Astro Boy artwork is also featured on original packaging such as shopping bags and shoe boxes.

On display at Onitsuka Tiger Ginza Pop-Up Store basement level 1 is an archive of more than 100 successive generations of the iconic MEXICO 66TM model and are on sale. MEXICO 66TM shoes purchased at this shop can also be customized with letters in the alphabet, numbers and symbols stitched into the shoe.

Opening on the second floor is the brand’s first café, TORA CAFÉ 75. This is a collaborative venture with the famous snow cone shop in Nara “Housekibaco” where reservations are notoriously difficult to make domestically and abroad. Five original snow cone flavors are on offer. Treat yourself to a world of flavor produced by subtle craftsmanship which utilizes choice seasonal ingredients and water that has been amply frozen over a 48 hour period.
Inheriting a tradition which began with the zeal of Kihachiro Onitsuka in 1949, Onitsuka Tiger will continue to take on new challenges.
