This year is the 75th anniversary of Onitsuka Tiger founded in 1949 by Kihachiro Onitsuka. To commemorate this major milestone, OT is holding the “Onitsuka Tiger 75th Anniversary Event in Tokyo” for a limited period. It was a great turnout—many thanks to all!

This is a special event which captures Onitsuka Tiger’s past and present and steps it is taking toward its 100th anniversary through a photo exhibit which encapsulates the stories and dreams of 75 pairs of sneakers such as the pair that originated the brand; the pair that became a game-changer for the times; and the pair that became the opportunity for the brand to expand into the global market. Also on display for the first time in the world are art pieces inspired by Onitsuka Tiger, a short film produced using Full CG, XR, and motion capture technology featuring stores around the world, and installations of the latest collections.

Five anniversary item shoes have been released to commemorate Onitsuka Tiger’s 75 years in the footwear business. Models which are symbolic of the brand’s birth and the strides it has made, its challenges and evolutions have been redesigned and reinterpreted in modern vogue. They will go on sale in succession from August 2024.

A new concept model “Radical Stride (RS)” was also released with plans to go on sale in February 2025. This footwear inspired by trail shoes will elevate your walking experience to the next level. Hear more about this shoe in upcoming news!

Keep an eye out on the future evolution of Onitsuka Tiger which has been entrusted with founder Kihachiro Onitsuka’s wish to “do good work which will support people’s hopes and dreams and lead to the future” and continues to take on this challenge toward a 100th anniversary!
