【COLLABORATION】Info on Visual Display and Exhibition tour of Street Fighter’s Chun-Li

The MEXICO 66 SD is a collaboration design shoe done in conjunction with the world-famous STREET FIGHTER video game. To commemorate this special shoe, of which only 5,000 pairs are available, there was a visual design display with some original hand-drawn art by Masakazu Katsura!

The description of the event was so dynamic it was bursting at the seams, and there was even a pattern of the Onitsuka Tiger lettering on the game title logo. Chun-Li is tough as nails, and on her feet is a pair of MEXICO 66 SD s, just waiting for the chance to bust out some of her huge arsenal of nasty kicking attacks. And the Onitsuka Tiger stripe is right on Chun-Li’s iconic blue and yellow China dress, for quite the visual impact.

In addition to the special visuals by Masakazu Katsura, Hikaru Cho provided the first of ten original artists’ interpretations of the Chun-Li image. Each presented a unique view of the Chun-Li character, and the display will make its way around to different Onitsuka Tiger stores; you can catch the exhibit while the shoes are on sale!

■Masakazu Katsura Bio■
Born in 1962 in Fukui Prefecture. His major works include Shonen Jump’s Wingman, Video Girl Ai, I”s, and Shonen Young Jump’s ZETMAN, among others. He has tons of fans from across many genres, and overseas as well.
