MEXICO 66 DELUXE model belongs to our "Nippon Made" collection. Since starting in 2008, "Nippon Made" conveys Japan's craftsmanship of making things. Building one of these shoes is a labor-intensive process: from the stitching to the dyeing, every step is done by a skilled hand. The materials used and the attention to detail portray the height of Japan's artisanal quality. The MEXICO 66 Deluxe takes inspiration from several classic running shoes, including the LIMBER shoes, which were designed in 1966 for pre-Olympic trials. The LIMBER was the first shoe to boast the Tiger stripes and were later delegated to the national Japanese Olympic team at the 1968 Olympics. This look, taken directly from the 60's, but redesigned for the present, gives the MEXICO 66 Deluxe its classic shape, slim styling and iconic design. Ideal for urban living, working and playing, it's crafted from premium leather and is stitched with the legendary Onitsuka Tiger stripes. The sneakers feature fuzeGEL technology which combines foam and GEL to improve bounce performance and comfort, while the GECKOTRAC outsole means you'll aways have enough grip, even in wet weather.
