MEXICO MID RUNNER DELUXE
Originally designed as a training shoe for long jump, high jump and triple jump, this model belongs to the special 'Nippon Made' collection.
This is a special shoe in Onitsuka Tiger's history as it was not originally found in any catalogues from the time of Tokyo 64. This mid-cut version was only discovered in the archives of ASICS Research and Development, in Kobe. The mid-cut Mexico 66 was intended to support the ankle and was used as a training shoe for the long jump, high jump, triple jump, and pole vaulting events.
This model belongs to the exclusive 'Nippon Made' collection. Since starting in 2008, "Nippon Made" conveys Japan's craftsmanship of making things. Building one of these shoes is a labour-intensive process: from the stitching to the dying, every step is done by a skilled hand. Everything from the materials used, and the attention to detail portrays the height of Japan's artisanal quality.
