ONITSUKA TIGER AND HANON TEAM UP FOR AURORA BOREALIS SNEAKER

Eighties running style blazes with Northern Liites luminescence

In places far north, everyone knows the “Aurora Borealis,” a spectacle better known as the Northern Lights. Breath-taking colours appear in the sky when the sun emits electronically charged particles that collide at temperatures of over a million degrees.

The phenomenon has inspired a special-edition Northern Liites shoe by Onitsuka Tiger and renowned sneaker store Hanon.

Hanon’s first Northern Liites collaboration in 2009 was with the GT-ll from ASICS, owner of Onitsuka Tiger. This time Hanon chose the Onitsuka Tiger COLORADO EIGHTY-FIVE, a profile that was created for the great outdoors.

The new Northern Liite sneaker has a full premium upper and synthetic suede stripes. The Aurora Borealis is echoed with lavender blue stripes on the lateral side and purple on the medial that dazzle with a lustrous silver 3M shadow.

Blue and purple are colours rarely seen in the Northern Lights, hinting at the exquisiteness of the shoe. The more typical pink and green are printed on the sockliner reflecting a gradation of colours.
Hanon’s trademark logo is de-bossed on the side and the flame logo on the back of the shoe. Laces come in three styles: purple, white, and flagged with a Hanon logo on the tips.
